What about lodging?

Hotel Madison is offering rooms at the current government per diem rate until February 7. After that date, any remaining rooms in the room block will be released.  The discounted per diem rate is available using the reservation link on the registration tab or by calling the hotel directly and let them know you are with the Project Hope Conference. 

 

Parking is a separate daily fee of $5.00.

Who is the conference for?

McKinney-Vento Liaisons, other school employees who support students experiencing homelessness, and community partners. We look forward to welcoming you and partnering with you!

I am SO excited about the keynotes! What topics will be covered in the breakout sessions?

We are happy to offer the following topics (so far) to be covered in our breakout sessions:

  • Professional Development

  • Eligibility

  • Federal Program Monitoring

  • Trafficking

  • Best Interest and Dispute Resolution

  • Liaison's Superpowers and Kryptonite

    Our lineup is just beginning - so check back as more breakout sessions will be unveiled as our super-speakers are confirmed.

Where will the conference be held?

The conference will take place (rain or shine! or snow!) at the Hotel Madison (Shenandoah Valley Conference Center) in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Conference Registration includes:

The conference registration fee of $325 will include:​

  • Meals

    • Lunch on Wednesday​

    • Breakfast and Lunch on Thursday

    • Breakfast and Lunch on Friday

  • A copy of The Glass Castle that you can have signed by the author Jeannette Walls.​​

Note: Lodging and parking costs are not included, and hotel reservations should be made separately.

Will conference attendees receive professional development credit?

Yes! We will take attendance at all general and breakout sessions and will send professional development certificates to attendees within one week of the conference ending. 

How can I pay for this if I don't have a
McKinney-Vento subgrant?

Your Title 1 Part A set aside also covers professional development. And that can include not only your registration, but your lodging, mileage, and meals not provided by the conference.

What happens when registration is full/closed?

We will have a waitlist once registration is full. Please email mcbuffkin@wm.edu to be added to the list.
